Beatles lookalike Kester Peters is saying 'goodbye Birmingham' and 'hello Las Vegas' after clinching a place in a major Fab Four tribute show.

The Edgbaston-born 33-year-old is heading west after he was voted top of the pops in a search for the world's best Paul McCartney impersonator.

The former Birmingham University student has already spent four years in the limelight playing with the acclaimed Beatles tribute band, Zeatles.

After touring the country and taking to the stage at the prestigious International Beatles Festival in Liverpool, Kester is now heading for the bright lights of Las Vegas.

From next Saturday he will be starring in the world renowned theatrical Beatles tribute show Legends of Yesterday performing at the Imperial Palace Hotel in the gambling capital.

Excited Kester said: "The tribute show scoured the internet to find a suitable Paul McCartney impersonator - and found me!

"This is a brilliant opportunity to further develop my career as a professional musician and I relish the challenge of working with entertainers of such a high calibre."

Kester, who has spent the last four years in New Zealand as an entertainment consultant, will be back in Brum catching up with old friends and visiting his parents in Amblecote, Brierley Hill, before jetting off to Nevada.

He added: "I'm looking forward to spending a few days with my mom and dad and friends in Birmingham and will have a chance to see how much the area has changed in the last five years - I've heard a lot about its new face."

A fan of 60s and 70s music, Kester also founded and starred in New Zealand Bee Gees tribute band, the Gee Bees.

Before emigrating to Wellington, New Zealand, Kester lived in Oldbury, Edgbaston, Selly Oak and Northfield.
