Tunel Do Tempo

Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, is not only well known for its endless golden beaches, it's also known for its love, passion and dedication to The Beatles. Amazingly this is one place The Fabs never visited, which I find surprising, considering that they have inspired so many Beatles Tribute Bands in this wonderful country.

Tunel Du Tempo are no strangers to the festival, they have been back to Liverpool more than six times and have gained a big following. This year original and founder member Luiz Mattos brought with him a new line up. Three young and extremely talented musicians; Kiko Ferreira (guitar), Leo Domi (bass) and Andre Luis (drums). I have always enjoyed Tunel Du Tempo's performances at Beatleweek and was very disappointed when they couldn't make the festival last year due to illness, so it was lovely to see in the programme that the band was back where they belong!

I closed my eyes to listen to their stunningly accurate version of Wings classic Bluebird - did you hear it? The guy who sang the part of Paul was wonderful, and I was especially impressed by the inclusion of the 'solo years' numbers in their Beatles set. It makes a nice change to hear these lesser heard songs at Beatleweek! It's great to see this band back at the festival!
