The Roaches*

The Roaches are a Beatles Tribute band that hail out of Griffin, Georgia (a city just south of Atlanta). They have been playing Beatles music for about five years and have won over a large group of fans that follow them from show to show. Along with playing in large arenas with legends such as Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis, they also enjoy playing in places such as small sports bars and private parties.

The Roaches consist of Young Hines; John Lennon (23), Mike Williamson; Paul McCartney (25), Michael Fulop; George Harrison (23) and Adam Thurston; Ringo Starr (22). Because The Roaches are the same ages that the Beatles were at the height of their popularity, they possess the same energy and determination as the originals, which in turn allows the audience to enjoy themselves more!

Along with paying tribute to the Beatles, The Roaches also have a band on the side, The Rochesters. This gives the guys a chance to show off their (very Beatle-esque) catalog of original songs. (Go to www.theroaches.com to hear these!) The Roaches are now in the process of making a Rochesters CD, which will be on sale wherever the Roaches play when it's released.

As a fan (and friend) of the guys, I would recommend this band for any true Beatlefans, or even for somebody just looking for a fun time! Not only are they amazing musicians, they are also great people. They are willing to meet everyone and they have the ability to make anyone feel welcome. I've seen The Roaches over 50 times since I met them in 1996 and I never get tired of them. Along with the other regulars, I'm able to mimic every move and recite every introduction (which adds to the excitement!). They have become a major part of all our lives - as a band and also as our friends. Through them, tons of amazing friendships have been made by lots of different people, most of whom never see each other away from concerts.

On behalf of all the fans of this magnificent band I suggest that those of you that haven't had the opportunity to see these guys in action, you really should make an effort to try. You won't be disappointed!!
