Biography: (From the Beatleweek 2004 Programme)

Before the Moptops. Before the suits. Before the screams. Before the British Invasion… it was pure rock and roll! '62 are a band that captures the look, sound, and energy of the Hamburg/Cavern era, and is one of only a few of the Beatle tribute bands in the entire world to focus only on this early period.

This year has been a busy one with the group gaining two new members and being selected as the ambassador band for the Finger Lakes Wine Country's "Riesling revolution" ad campaign; they toured several state wineries, and were featured prominently on television and radio. On this the 40th anniversary of the Beatles arrival in America, '62 are pleased to be sharing the stage with mates 1964… The Tribute, and The Fab Four at the Royal Court Theatre on Saturday. The band will also kick off the Mathew Street festival on Monday from the Beatles stage on Victoria Street.

If you missed their high energy shows at last year's convention, be sure to take some time to "mach shau" with them this time around!

Dave Pal (John), John Doud (Paul), Scott Benjamin (George), and Dan Naylor (Ringo), would love to meet you and share a pint or two! '62 are honoured to be invited back to Beatleweek, and look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones!

News

22 November 2004

'62 will be making their debut at one of the US's premier Beatles events; Abbey Road On The River. The event takes place in a new location for 2005: Louisville, Kentucky from 27-29 May 2005. Dave Pal sent TWIL this message:

"From Liverpool to Louisville..from the UK to Kentuck-k! '62 looks forward to seeing our many friends from Beatle Week playing there as well....best wishes to Gary Jacobs and his festival staff, and everyone else who is ready for a great time in Louisville next May..... we can't wait to see all the fans!!"

And '62 certainly had better be in the festival mood for 2005 as they've been invited back to International Beatle Week in Liverpool in August. The line-up for the festival is still being confirmed, but we'll have all the information as soon as it's released. And be sure to book early as rooms at the Adelphi Hotel are already selling fast...

19 November 2003

'62 have been confirmed as part of the line-up for Liverpool International Beatle Week 2004. '62 had this message for TWIL:

"Dave here from the USA's '62...and we are dead chuffed to be returning to Liverpool for BeatleWeek in 2004!

We had an absolute blast, and it was great meeting new friends (who in essence are family now). We look forward to seeing you all soon...especially on the Saturday evening show at the Royal Court!"
