The Fab Beatles
Let me introduce you to The Fab Beatles. The Fab Beatles are widely regarded as the best 'sound and look-alike' Beatles Tribute band in the UK. They are a band who pride themselves on total authenticity. The band formed in 1991, by four complete Beatlemaniacs, Kev Day (John), Andy Southard (Paul), Lyndon Wilson (George) and Matt Willis (Ringo). Turning professional in 1998, they have risen through sheer hard work and dedication to become one of the most sought after tribute acts in the country.
The Fab Beatles have performed all over the UK and Ireland and around the world with appearances in Canada, The Caribbean, Denmark, Germany, Holland, France and just recently Portugal. In 1998 they received the ultimate approval from the people of Liverpool, when they played to a packed audience The Beatles exhibition, on the famous Albert Dock.
The Fab Beatles are self managed, they do everything from the performance to driving round the country like maniacs to get to the shows on time, the 'roadying' and sound checking!! It's amazing they have the energy left to even attempt a show! And they still give you 100% Fab Beatles performance! Not only that, if you think The Fab Beatles sit around on their very few days off…they are responsible for all their official fan newsletters, written every month by the band members Kev and Lyn. And they answer all their fan letters and mails personally so they don't live up to that famous Lennon phrase "You couldn't get a pen in your foot…!". No, bless 'em, the lads are the nicest bunch of Beatle band maniacs we've ever come across! Not only have they won us over with their amazing likeness to The Beatles, but their wonderful personalities as people. They really do appreciate their fans and that goes a long way.
Despite their success as a Beatle Band, they have remained down to earth and even though the likes of Michael Parkinson phone them up for a booking (for his celebrity birthday party!), they still keep their feet on the ground. Other famous fans include Sir Tim Rice, and Jo recently sent their CD to Stanley Parkes, John Lennon's cousin, who was most impressed. Stan said, "The presentation of The Fab Beatles is excellent. The guy who does John (Kev), he's a real ringer and sounds just like him! The others too, do an excellent job of The Beatles that they portray. If I didn't know any better I could quite well believe that I was listening to a live recording of The Beatles themselves."
The guys were thrilled at this response from Stan and they think it is cool that someone who was so close to John Lennon, admires their music. We know that they thank you, Stan and send their best wishes to you.
The Fab Beatles have recently been approached by the BBC, who are making a documentary on a live tribute band! Out of all the tribute bands that auditioned, the Fabs were on the shortlist of 3! Good luck, guys! We know you'll pass the audition!!
