The Fab 4 - Fabulous!

The Fab 4 are one of my favourite British Beatle Bands! I have to admit to being biased as they were the first band I saw and I was immediately bowled over by them, and in the four years since then we have become good friends!! So I think I am qualified to introduce them to you! The Fabs, (as we affectionately call them!) are Blue (vocals, rhythm guitar and mouth organ), Tony (vocals, lead guitar and occasional keyboards!), Pat (vocals, and bass) and Gary (vocals, drums).

The four Fab's have been together since 1994 and in the 6 years since have firmly established themselves as the Midlands premier Beatles tribute. They were the first Beatles band to play the Paul McCartney Auditorium at LIPA in 1997, as part of the 'Cavern to Rooftop' tour with former Apple General Manager, Alistair Taylor. They have also played at the Nottingham and Derby Beatles Days on numerous occasions and for two years were the main event at the Penny Lane Festival in Liverpool. One of The Fab 4's most memorable gigs was as part of Nottingham's celebrations as host city for Euro 96. Over 6,000 people crowded into the centre of the city, despite thunder and lightning, and sang along to all the Beatles classics. It just goes to show how much the Beatles still mean to people all over the world today…or that Beatle fans are completely mad!!!

And finally in 1998 the ultimate gig at the ultimate venue. The Fab 4 were invited to join the crazy long weekend that is Liverpool Convention!! They were booked for three gigs as part of the Mathew Street Festival - The Abbey Road Pub, The Adelphi Hotel and The Cavern!! Gary: "We got to play onstage at the Cavern!! It didn't seem all that important at the time, but it certainly hit home after the event!" Blue: "I'd never really considered The Beatles as real people playing real places, so when we ended up there it was a very strange feeling. I'd never considered getting that close!"

As well as providing support to original 60's bands including The Merseybeats and The Searchers, The Fab 4 enjoy playing and that is their greatest strength! So if you fancy a great night out, with the chance to hear all your favourite Beatles songs, get on down to one of The Fab 4's gigs!! You won't be disappointed!!
