The Beatween
The Russian invasion continues with The Beatween. Hailing from Moscow, The Beatween do not aim to impersonate The Beatles but rather bring life to the music that moulded four unknown Liverpool musicians into the band that we all know and love, The Beatles. The band mainly focus on the early years of the Fab Four; 1958-1963, when four young Liverpool lads forged their own sound and played non-stop in such places as the Star Club, Indra Club and of course The Cavern. So you can expect a show full of energy and fast beats. The Beatween formed in 2002 after seeing the adverts on www.beatles.ru, the Russian Beatles fan club. After performing their first gig in the aptly named Yellow Submarine Club, their status on the Beatles scene rose and they quickly became regulars to clubs around Russia including Moscow, St Petersburg and other cities. So far in their short career, they have played at many of the Russian Beatles Festivals and always to great reviews. But the true testament to this bands ability is the fact that they were filmed for Paul McCartney's documentary on his return to Russia ('Paul McCartney in Red Square' 2003). They have also shared the stage with Tony Sheridan on his tours of Moscow and St Petersburg as well as headlining the Ufa Beatles Festival. The band are: Aleksey Plyushch (guitar, vocals), Nikolai Denisov (drums, vocals), Denis Is Kagorlitskiy (bass, vocals) and Mikhail Treshchalin (guitar, vocals).
