Ev'rybody's talking about Beatle-ism, Adelphi-ism, Bed-In-ism, this-ism, that-ism, ism, ism, ism… All we are saying is give Jon Keats a chance!!
After several years of unofficial Beatleweek bed-ins, (and we don't mean passing out on the sofas in the Adelphi lounge!) we finally managed to talk Jon Keats into hosting our first official one last year. He and his friend, the wonderful actress Victoria Sharpe, turned the Adelphi Lounge into their very own hotel room, complete with bed and several hundred enthusiastic fans. Both were bedecked in white pyjamas, although when Victria invited the audience to come and cut pieces from her nightwear and both Neil B and Billy H jumped up, there were a few nervous moments as we feared for her dignity! The Bed-In was a complete success and was possibly the longest time we've evr spent in the vicinity of a bad at Beatle Week!
Jon returns to his more normal Beatle Week duties this year, fronting his excellent Lennon tribute band Instant Karma. They will be headlining our Lennon Remembered show at the Cavern Club on Tuesday.
Instant Karma are an amzing band, and Jon's Lennon tribute shows are both moving and joyous, peaceful and exciting, but always very, very memorable.
