Beat The Meetles
Beat The Meetles are a Danish Beatles Tribute band from Copenhagen, Denmark. The Beatles' second album, With The Beatles was the first proper Beatles album release in the States; therefore the album was given the title of Meet The Beatles. Since The Beatles themselves was quite keen on word manipulation, the four musicians behind this project dubbed the band Beat The Meetles. The basic philosophy is to perform the songs exactly like the originals, which is by no means an easy task, but Beat The Meetles lives up to their ambitions! In general; because the band are musically competent, but particularly due to the fact that since they are all using instruments and equipment exactly like that used by The Beatles, they are able to recreate the sound down to the last detail. In this way, the band also put a lot of energy into recreating the famous live-energy of the Fab Four, for instance by wearing suits that fits any period they recreate. In September '98, Beatles Unlimited Europe's biggest Beatles fan magazine, printed an article about the band, judging them as 'perfect sound-alikes'.
Since the formation of the band in 1994, Beat The Meetles has toured extensively both nationally and internationally. Beat The Meetles has played numerous festivals in North Europe, including the Midtfyns Festival, Ringe, Denmark in 2003 which more than 50,000 people attended. Also Beat The Meetles appeared on a billboard with prominent 60s bands The Swinging Blue Jeans and Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich, in 2005.
In 2001, they enjoyed huge success at Beatle Week, playing at the Cavern Club and numerous other Liverpool venues; an experience that made the band even more enthusiastic. Beat The Meetles are so busy this summer, that they are only able to play for one day at this year Beatle Week, so be sure to try and catch one of their two shows on Saturday.
Beat The Meetles are Michael Stanley (John Lennon), Rasmus Schröder (Paul McCartney), Soeren Koch (George Harrison) and Flemming Koch (Ringo Starr).
