Mersey Beat Legends

In 1997 the Cavern Club celebrated its 40th Anniversary with the unveiling of a Wall of Fame commemorating the 1,801 bands that played at the original Cavern Club between 1957 and 1973. One of the bricks in the wall bears the name 'The Seftons', a group who played at The Cavern in 1964. In 2002, former 'Sefton' Yanni Tsamplakos returned to Mathew Street and the Cavern Club, and this year he's back again, with his new band, Mersey Beat Legends. Joining Yanni to pay tribute to the bands whose music defined the sixties, are Paul Cornwell on lead guitar, John Joce on bass and John Cotter on drums. They will be performing hits by many legendary groups including Gerry And The Pacemakers, The Swinging Blue Jeans, The Searchers and, of course, The Beatles.
