Beatals are coming to town

The Islander, Australia - 21 February 2003.

Kangaroo Island residents who enjoy quality live music should put a big circle around April 12 on their calendars when The 'Beatals' will come to Kangaroo Island for the first time.

A tribute to possibly the most famous band in history ‘The Beatles', ‘The Beatals' have mastered the art of putting on a show that concert-goers will remember for years.

Presented by the Kingscote Football Club ‘The Beatals' will perform at the Kingscote Town Hall from 8pm and will take listeners through a unique period in the early days of rock and roll.

The ‘fab four' will don the grey suits and velvet collars and strum out hits ranging from ‘Please Please Me', ‘Hard Day's Night' and ‘Sergeant Pepper' to ‘Let It Be' and ‘Abbey Road'.

‘The Beatals' have performed at some of Australia's largest events and internationally at venues in China, Fiji, Noumea, Malaysia and Singapore and were even invited to perform at the world famous Liverpool Beatles Convention.

"The Kingscote Football Club would like to thank Kangaroo Island SeaLink for assisting with travel and the Ozone Seafront Hotel for providing accommodation for the band and road crew," Ian Green, from the Club, told The Islander.

In addition, upon the presentation of prepaid tickets at the Ozone on the evening of the performance a 10% discount will be available on meals.

"This is a truly fantastic show ... whether you are 16 or 60 you will find ‘The Beatals' highly entertaining," Ian said.

Tickets are $30 each and can be purchased at either the Ozone Cellars or from Kingscote Football Club members David Johnston, Steve Budarick or Ian Green. See advert on page 6 for more information.
