They Came a Long Way, Baby!!
What did you
think of Liverpool?
I loved Liverpool and London. I could definitely live there, (in the warmer
months anyway). The Liverpool locals were very kind and we all got along with
them very well. Steve (our sound engineer) and Bill (Heckle) had a particular
bonding moment, but we won't go into that, hey boys?!
What did you
think of the fans?
The fans were brilliant. We didn't know what to expect or how well received
we would be, and we were very pleasantly surprised. We'd like to say a very
big "G'DAY" to all the people that saw us, and also a big "THANKYOU" for all
your kind words. See ya next time 'round.
What was your
best moment of the whole week?
Chavasse Park, and getting the English crowd to sing out, " AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE...Oi
Oi Oi." Lets just say it was a Kodak moment. Actually there was another moment
that I must mention and that was when Gav (The Blue Meanies) did his version
of George falling over from A Hard Days Night, and I've got it all on video.
What do you
think of The Beatles Festival?
Well I am a huge Beatles fan, so I think it could have gone on for longer. I
would have liked to have seen more bands and more of Liverpool itself, but didn't
really get the time. Having said that though, it was fantastic!
Who were your
favourite bands of the week?
I liked most of the bands that I saw. In particular though Ox, they rocked.
Caesar on drums with his Keith Moon-esque style was great. The Blue Meanies,
are really cool and a great bunch of guys too (hey Gav). There was a band from,
I think, Argentina that played a lot of the white album stuff, and one last
one, that I can think of is Leo's band. I'm not sure what they're called (Tunel
Do Tempo? TWIL.), but he impressed me when he sang 'Oh Darling'. It's a bloody
high song to sing (Phew!!).
It was a great event all round and I think the best part is always meeting new
people with like minds. I met some great people whilst in Liverpool and I can't
wait to catch up with them all again!
